With over three decades of executive leadership experience in three different statewide organizations, I have a comprehensive background in almost every area of state chamber work. I have helped to grow exponentially two of the most successful state chambers in the nation. Over a 20 year career, I helped build the PA Chamber from $2M to $20M and the NC Chamber from $2M to $8M. I have lead revenue growth initiatives which have provided these organizations with the resources and reserves to make an impact for their members where it matters most.

Critical to this success is a vast knowledge of all areas around revenue generation: membership growth, for-profit programs, non-dues income generation, fundraising for capital campaigns, political action and foundation. In my experience driving growth, I have become adept at implementing change, building high performing teams, strategic planning, innovation and problem solving. Everywhere I have worked, the organization has become more profitable, relevant, effective and respected. Spanning my career, I have found a way to make non-profit organizations very profitable.

Over my career, I’ve served as president & CEO at both the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. Before that, I was President of PCI Services, Inc., with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. I served as chair of the Council of State Chambers, as chair of the Association of State Chamber Professionals, and as a member of the U.S. Chamber’s Committee of 100. Under my leadership, in 2016, the North Carolina Chamber was selected as the COSC’s inaugural recipient of the State Chamber of the Year Award.
